Meet the Returners, a group of gamers that play vintage games in marathon fashion to raise money for Child’s Play. Not only do they play these games for hours and hours on end, they stream it live on their website so people can watch.
What’s so interesting about watching people play old RPG games for hours on end? Well they also have announcers and commentators during these gaming marathons to provide entertainment. Sounds pretty cool to me.

I am going to try to put out a few blogs based on IMHO (In My Honest Opinion for anyone who doesn’t know the Net Speak), where I will give my top 5 reasons or opinions on a certain topic. One reason I would like to do this is to open up the board for our readers to also offer their own opinions and offer their Top 5 in comments.
I will start this off with my personal Top 5 games for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Now obviously I can only base my top 5 on games that I have actually played. I am sure there are likely other games out there that could be considered better, but this is MY personal top 5.
Lets start with number 5, …

Okay so in the UK we have a system called nectar points which is added when you buy products with any store that has a partner ship with Sainsburys (1 of the big UK stores) and you can you get points from the amount you spend from shopping, electronics, clothing, Airline tickets etc.
Now when you spend say for example £200 on grocery shopping you would receive 200 nectar points which means then you can go back to your nectar account and buy anything with the amount of points you have this includes Cd’s, DVDs, Games, Airline tickets, Theme park tickets the list is pretty much endless.
So seems as I had 7700 points on my account I started having a look around The console section and the PC section, finding all the new games that have came out which as the new ARMA II (Which I’m buying later this week), Prototype and a few others. now seems as I didn’t have the money on launch day due to money issues I think this is a great system so I ordered my self a copy of Prototype for 6000 points.
Now my personal opinion on this is, it is a good system don’t get me wrong but you have to spend quite a bit of money in multiple stores to make a lot of points so in some ways it can be a bloody ripoff and in others can come in good use but I guess that is up to the person as everyone is entitled to their own personal opinion but over all good system with some floors but which system doesn’t have floors right?

Hello,
Since this is my first blog I thought I’d introduce myself.
As those who’ve listened to the last couple of weeks know, I’m the new third host of Gaming Unlimited. Kid Dogg and I co-hosted another podcast, “The Kid Dogg Show”. That show as succumbed to the most dreaded of all diseases “Podicus Fadius” or podfade. We usually spouted on about geeky things like Podaudio books, movies, comics, and what ever struck us as funny or odd.
Anyways, more about me. I’m apparently I’m the odd man of the Total Gamer crew. I’ve been playing video games since the golden age of arcades. One of my favorite hang outs was an arcade near my high school. I’ve been a geek or a nerd (interchangeable terms as far as I’m concerned) most of my life. Matter of fact, one of my favorite toys was a Commadore 64 personal computer. I actually taught myself BASIC, not that I did much with it. Over the years I’ve owned a Sega Genesis, a NES, XBox, XBox 360, and couple of different versions of computers. Speaking of computers, my current system is one I built several years ago.
As anyone who as listened to either KDS or GU (or been on a podcast with me) know I can be rather opinionated. I tend to look at the world though from a different perspective. I consider myself to be politically Conservative but socially moderate. What that means I don’t believe that the answer to life’s problems is government assistance and what people do behind closed doors is none of my business. Some of this may be naturally my fault and some of it may be due to my time as a Sailor in the US Navy. And that being said, I like to pride myself on being able to listen to other’s opinions and if the argument is sound, change my mind based on new facts.
I don’t claim that my opinion are the be all/end all. I try to approach all subjects with logic and critical analysis. Never be afraid to challenge my beliefs or opinions. Matter of fact, I hope you do, dear reader. If don’t push your boundaries, you never know what your capable of. If all you listen to are echos, you will never hear anything new.
Welcome to The Grizzly. I hope you enjoy the ride.

Ok so the title is a little over the top but you have to have some fun.
The strange thing you see in the pic is the GamerDr, and it’s a new devise for parents to stop their kids playing video games for hours on end. It’s not what you would call high-end tech; it’s a power timer that will cut power to what ever divide you plug in to it. Continue reading »

One of the few topics that blown the world away, the passing of a few celebrities, a few names Billy Mays(yes its true and confirmed, sadly). its a really insane shock before the 1990’s Micheal Jackson was a huge pop icon, then slowly over time the mans image grown out of public as demented or crazy given such redicious titles from the press and media, as “wacko jacko” or “jacko” ether way this was a really striking effect on the mans career and uncalled for from my experience and opinion, aside from that i admit i did toss one small joke about him in the past but i didn’t hold myself for the joke and nevermore will insult the man in anything….

Ok, so I know that I acted all rough and tough with all my talk about girl gamers and how I don’t like sissy games. I know how I said I can hang with the rough and tough. Believe me, its still true. But I need to give some credit to the casual gaming as well.
I really do love PopCap games. They delight me with their colorful graphics, excellent music, and just the way the replay value is off the charts. I can’t explain the hours that I have spent on Peggle (including Peggle Nights) and Zuma on my computer. Not to mention online play with Bookworm and Chuzzle. Pizza Frenzy was another one of my favorites, I mean who can really not appreciate the Shrimp Pizza? And don’t even get me started on Mystery PI. I can play those for hours on end and never get bored of them!
But let me get to what my newest fancy is. Plants Vs. Zombies…. Continue reading »
