It was recently announced that Xbox Live for the original Xbox will be no longer.  There has been speculation that there will be upgrades to Xbox Live in the future that weren’t possible due to the architecture that the original Xbox had for Live.

Personally I look forward to what the future will bring for Xbox Live as Microsoft has stated the reason that our friends list can not grow past 100 is because of Halo 2, and how the original architecture for Xbox Live was holding Live for the 360 back. Recently on Twitter I have read many tweets stating that gamers want the friends list to be expanded, and now Microsoft has no reason not to. There is no longer an excuse for it to not happen.

The question I ask is different. Is anyone saddened by the closing down of  Live for the original Xbox? With Halo 3 and Halo ODST out is there anyone who still plays Halo 2 online? I recently read that Bungie is sad about this, but I don’t expect any different as Halo 2 is their creation. A creation they are and should be proud of.

Will you miss playing Halo 2 online, or perhaps another original Xbox title? What upgrades are you looking forward to with Live now that the architecture from the original Xbox should no longer hold it back?
